The New York City I love

The New York City I love has an energy that unmistakably weaves it’s way through the streets into places we walk and seeps into our veins without our realizing it. New Yorkers tend to walk fast but my own pace is slow to begin with and with a camera my eyes are more focused on the a city full of details that walking becomes slower and become far more mindful.
This week the United Nations Assembly has world leaders in town with heightened security.Wherever you walked there was no way to get around law enforcement at every corner.
I couldn’t but help want to photograph New York’s finest with their partners but it took a lot to get near any of the teams I wanted to take images of.
The team I had the honor of photographing was K-9 Tank, (a very fine German Shepard) and his partner Officer Byalik. This powerful team has been together since 2011 and were certified in patrol, tracking, article search and scent detection and criminal apprehension in 2012.
Hats off to another of New York’s Finest.
