The Saint Patrick’s Day Parade in New York City

Most people go to the Saint Patrick’s Day parades to celebrate their families ancestrial roots, while listening to the marching bands and enjoy the atmosphere. One doesn’t necessarily need to be Irish to be part of the celebration. We go to follow the dogs as our first hope is the seeing the majestic Irish Wolfhound. This weather this year spectacular as one lone glorious hound led the parade- but after that there there was only one other dog on the route of the parade. Yet this year wasn’t so much about the dogs marching in the parade but the dogs that were out in numbers to protect our beautiful city. As New York City knows how to keep the public safe, this day we got to witness NYPD K-9 units out in force working this historical parade. .
It’s a pleasure to be able to show all the beautiful K-9 units that were on the parade route from 75th Street right down to 42nd Street on 5th Avenue. We love New York City but even more so we love the men and women of law enforcement who keep us safe along with their K-9s. These four legged officers hold the honor of capturing all of New York’s heart when it comes to being the top dog.
Thank you.
